On Friday, August 15, 2014, over twenty elected officials from Mobile and Baldwin Counties met with the Build the I-10 Bridge Coalition to rally support behind efforts to get the I-10 Bridge built over the Mobile River. From mayors to city council members to county commissioners, the meeting shows the unparalleled local support behind the bridge project. The breakfast meeting was hosted by Coastal Alabama Partnership and featured guest speakers Congressman Bradley Byrne (AL-1) and Coalition Co-Chair Mike Lee.
Congressman Byrne addressed the group of gathered officials and stated, “To be successful with any major project, it takes a true team effort. That certainly holds true in the case of our continued efforts to build an I-10 bridge over the Mobile River.“
At the Breakfast, the Coalition announced it will be actively engaged in building community support by encouraging residents to attend meetings, write letters and display support signs. In addition, the Coalition has partnered with CAP to build a coalition of regional partners and coordinate a trip to Washington, DC for local officials to impress upon the Federal administration the importance this project means to the Coastal Alabama region.
