On November 5, 2017, Coastal 150 hosted the inaugural Bourbon on the Bay, where guests sampled from twenty-five premium bourbons and whiskeys while overlooking Mobile River and the Port of Mobile. The event also featured heavy hors d’oeuvres, a selection of wine and local brews, a silent auction and live music.
Nearly 200 members and guests enjoyed the evening, especially watching ships move up and down Mobile River. The most exciting moment came when the drawing for two very special prizes were announced. Two lucky winners won a family of five Pappy Van Winkle bottles and a grand prize of a bottle of 25-year Pappy Van Winkle. Any proceeds from the Bourbon by the Bay event will benefit the new Coastal 150 organization and will become their signature fundraising event.
