CAP Applauds $125 Million INFRA Grant for I-10 Bridge Project

July 22, 2019 (Mobile, Alabama) Coastal Alabama Partnership (CAP) applauds the Department of Transportation’s awarding the long discussed I-10 River Bridge and Bayway project with a $125 Million INFRA Grant.  The I-10 River Bridge and Bayway project is a priority project for the region and this award is a recognition of the project’s importance to from the Federal Department of Transportation.

 

“I would like to thank Secretary Chao and the Department of Transportation for awarding this INFRA grant to the I-10 Bridge and Bayway project,” said Wiley Blankenship President/CEO of Coastal Alabama Partnership. “I would also like to praise Senator Shelby and Congressman Byrne and the rest of the Alabama Congressional delegation for their tireless effort in promoting and pushing for this vital federal grant.”

The I-10 River Bridge and Bayway project is crucial for Coastal Alabama and the entire I-10 Corridor on the Gulf Coast. The completion of this project will also increase the capacity of I-10 to meet existing and predicted future traffic volumes, provide vehicles carrying hazardous materials a direct route away from downtown Mobile, and minimize impacts to Mobile’s maritime industry.

The Coastal Alabama region is experiencing tremendous growth – the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project is vital and will provide great benefits for citizens, travelers, and businesses, as well as regional and interstate commerce.
